County Commission February Meeting

  • The Fentress County Commission Agenda Deadline is Wednesday, February 7th at NOON.  

  • The Fentress County Commission will meet on Monday, February 12th at 6 pm. at the Fentress County Courthouse in the courtroom.  A copy of the Fentress County Commission AGENDA will be available on the Friday before the Monday Meeting in the County Executive’s Office.

Sons of Confederate Veterans

·      The James M. Saufley Camp 929 Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet Tuesday February 6 at 6pm at the Hometown Café on South Main st. in Jamestown for their regular monthly meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you are interested in joining the local SCV Camp we can run your genealogy and see if you qualify. Help us to preserve the history and culture of the south! UCHRA Commodity Distribution

·      The Upper Cumberland Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities Distribution for Fentress County on Thursday February 8th from 9am to 11am at the Highlands Church of the Cumberland’s. Contact the UCHRA to renew your commodity application.

Regional Planning Commission Public Hearing

The Fentress County Regional Planning Commission will have three public hearings scheduled Friday, February 16, at the Fentress County Courthouse for the purpose of receiving public comment regarding the following:

·       The addition of Hemlock Trail, Fitzgerald Lane and Jason Place to the county road list.

The public hearings will begin at Noon in the Economic and Community Development Room on the second floor. All citizens are invited to attend. Any questions or comments can be addressed to Fentress County Planner Tommy Lee by Phone: 931-879-2170.

Second Harvest Food Bank

  • Second Harvest Mobile Pantry Jamestown

February 13 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Join us for a Mobile Pantry in Fentress County at Fentress County Food Pantry on Tuesday, February 13th from 8:30 a.m – 10:30 a.m. CST (or until all allotted food has been given out)

Address is: 511 Fairgrounds Rd Jamestown, TN 38556.

This distribution is always the 2nd Tuesday of the month and is listed in Central Standard Time.

  • Second Harvest Mobile Pantry Clarkrange

February 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a Mobile Pantry in Fentress County at South Fentress Park – Clarkrange on Tuesday, February 20th from 10 a.m – 12 p.m. CST (or until all allotted food has been given out).

Address is: 6233 S York Hwy, Clarkrange, TN 38553. 

This distribution is always the 3rd Tuesday of the month and is listed in Central Standard Time.

  • The Mobile Pantry is a recurring monthly pantry on wheels that neighbors can count on for fresh, nutritious food distributed in each of our counties. The goal of the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee’s Mobile Pantry program is to make access to Food Bank services more convenient by reaching individuals at risk of hunger in their own communities. Anyone is welcome to attend any Mobile Pantry, and we do not require you to bring anything with you. 

Valentines Party February the 17th

  • God’s Gift 2 U is sponsoring a Valentine Party Feb. 17th at 6pm. All proceeds go to Kendra’s Place –Youth and Community Center--. Good music plus great food. Admission is $15 per person or $25 for couples. 1125 Clarkrange/Monterey Hwy in Clarkrange.

Church News

·      Mercy Point Assembly of God invites you to their services every Sunday morning @ 10:30 & Wednesday evening @ 5:30. Pastor Rob Frazier and congregation invites everyone to come and join them. They are located at 832 Allarat Hwy.

·      Tinchtown Community Church will be having Friends & Family Day Sunday, February 11@ 10:00 am. The Agee family from Pikeville, TN will be singing. Pastor Jonathan beaty and congregation invites everyone to attend.

·      Donations accepted, Everyone is welcome.

Harvest Thrift Store Hours:

·      Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am to 4pm.

·      Wednesday and Saturday: 9am to 12pm

·      Closed Sunday and Monday
