Sam Murphy
Sam Murphy, age 57 of Crossville, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the St. Thomas Rutherford.
Sam was born on November 5, 1966 in Livingston, TN to Lester and Susie Murphy. He was the happiest child, a trait that would stay with him throughout his life. Sam’s childhood years were spent in Tennessee though Texas would later become home for a short time. He had a variety of jobs starting from the age of 14. Whether it was serving in the United States Marine Corp, working on oil rigs, road crews, construction, or even his stint as an EMT, Sam always excelled at whatever he chose to do. Though those of us here will remember him as the best transmission mechanic around. Always an extremely hard-working man, Sam still made time to become skilled at leather work, and even had the pleasure of crafting pieces for the former governor of Texas. His talents didn’t stop there; he could run a pool table or catch a fish as soon as the line hit the water, but there is nothing he liked more than riding his Harley. Sam was a light to this world, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Jennings Funeral Homes Chapel in Jamestown.
